Episode 12: Sell to Everybody Sell to Nobody, Speak to One Speak to Many

Today we’re gonna share with you, I’m gonna share with you “Sell to Everybody Sell to Nobody, Speak To One, Speak to Many”   

Now, this is a very interesting concept because you don’t lose yourself trying to be everything to everyone. Okay?

In the online world, we want to be able to target or record the target one type of fish. One type of fish, okay? Fish means potential customers. F-I-S-H, alright? You wanna target one type of customer or potential customers online because if you have a marketing budget for a thousand dollars, where do you want to focus on? Of course, usually, people will think ‘I want to target everybody, Genecia. I want to target the pomfret, the Batang, the barracuda, the Nemo, the Dolphins, the Sharks. I want to target all these fishes and try to catch everybody, all the fish into my net” but did you know that by doing so...

First, your energy will be depleted before you know it. Two, your resources will be depleted before you know it. Three, your voice becomes depleted even before you know it, which means to say, nobody will actually hear what you say because imagine this right now if you have a laser that is pointing at one singular direction, this “x” right in front of you right now and this laser pointing to this “x”, the middle of the “x” and you keep pointing on that, lasering through the “x”, do you think there’ll be more powerful? Or will it be having ten “x-es” and your laser trying to do a pointing throughout all the “x-es” which is weak?

So, what does this mean? In the online space, it’s always good to start focusing on one fish first because you need to be able to solve the problems of the fish. Whether is it, you know, solving the problem. For example, for this stay at home mom, to ten years stay at home mom that whom we help, to build up an online presence and to launch her business online. Remember, we help you to bring business online, not to do online business, it’s two different things.

So, we launched offline chili business to an online world and in two months, she made four figures online. In the beginning, she only wants to sell two dollars ninety-nine cents, which was really cheap because she calculated a costing, you know, it’s not high and then she says “Oh, when I say really cheap because I don’t want people to think it’s expensive because in the market people only buy chili at two dollars and ninety-nine cents”, I said “No, you have to sell it at ten dollars or nine dollars and ninety cents because then you will be able to target those people who are busy people. First, problem-solving of people who have no time to make their own chili paste. Two, you’re targeting people who have no time but one fresh chili, that means the one, the specific chili that is freshly made every single week, no preservatives involved in making of the chili. Three, people who want healthy chili, this chili has no salt, no sugar, and no oil.

And because we are solving a special need, solving a special problem, we are no longer selling to everybody who wants to just eat chili because if you want to focus on just target everybody, they can go to the supermarket, there’s plenty of choices out there.

So, because she was able to understand the problem that she was solving, women who say “Yeah, I can do it myself too” but has no time, “Yeah, I can do it myself too” but wants healthy chili, then these people will come knocking on your door and say “Yes, please sell me your chili right now” and because of this targeting, she was not selling to everybody. In fact, she understood the concept of “Sell to Everybody Sell to Nobody, Speak to One Speak to Many” within two months.

She was able to make four figures online because she was targeted in her messaging, she does not try to be temptings to everybody because don’t lose yourself trying to be everything to everyone. It’s not going to work.

Online space is really noisy, it takes three to seven seconds to make an impression before the next finger swipe happens. Imagine you’re scrolling through a news feed if you can’t even capture the attention of your fishes or your potential customers to be even interested in what you’re doing, then how are you going to be successful online? Bring your business online, bring more customers to your business.

Also pricing, ten dollars versus two dollars and ninety-nine cents. Why would people pay? Because you solve a problem, you solve a need, that is why she was able to charge at this pricing, ten dollars a pocket.

So if you are looking to shine online, to be seen as a woman leader online, to promote your products and services online. Remember this, “Sell to Everybody Sell to Nobody, Speak to One Speak to Many” and of course, one more thing to add, it’s never just about the products and services, it’s always about your message and how you connect and resonate with your audience online.
