106: What's A Money Block And Do I Have Any?


We’re going to talk again about “money blocks”

Here in Soul Rich Woman, we talk more about the F word. Being fabulous, having freedom, financial independence, and a happy family.If you haven’t been in the Soul Rich Woman community you might be confused with the term “money blocks”. 
It’s weird when you think about it because you can never entirely get rid of them. That’s why you have to be vigilant and constantly work on them. So if you’ve been feeling blocked about money, today’s episode is a great refresher for you! 

What exactly are money blocks?

03:18- 03:28 In Soul Rich Woman, I describe a money block as “Anything that holds you back from making the money you want.”
03:29- 03:35 This is usually an underlying belief or fear of money. You may or may not be aware of it, but it’s there.

Just make sure that your “excuses” aren’t money blocks

04:50- 05:32 For example number one: If you think that your clients can’t afford your current rates, you could uplevel your marketing to make your value ladder or make sure your value is way much clearer, or you just find a new target market that’s more aligned to your pricing. Number two: If the economy sucks right now, you could create an affordable group program that lets you get paid multiple times for the same amount of work. Number three: If you’re too busy to create passive income products, you could raise your prices to take on fewer clients, and maybe hire some help to free up time too.


How do you know if you have money blocks?

07:03- 07:26 I want you to really get this idea. If you want more money, and it’s just not coming, my 99.9% certain diagnosis is “money blocks.” The good news is that you can have money blocks and yet not allow it to stop you from achieving your dreams.


Why do we have money blocks?

07:29- 08:16 A lot of women have an underlying fear that it’s not safe for us to be rich or successful or both. Being a Soul Rich Woman, deep down, you probably have stories about how more money will lead to some negative outcomes, and if you will talk about money in a community and you feel very stressed out and you just want to leave the community because they talk about making money and you feel that it's not right to charge or not right to have money. That’s weird, right? Because on the surface, you think you want to make more, and but then you have these conflicting feelings inside of you. So really, it’s a protective mechanism that we think will save us from some kind of perceived harm.


Specific money blocks examples

08:21- 08:29 Most people have pretty similar money blocks. Honestly, you might think your situation is unique, but it’s probably not.
08:30- 08:35 Here are some of the most common ones that I see and let’s see how many of them ring a bell for you. 
08:36- 08:40 Number one: “I’m just not meant to be rich.”
08:45- 08:48  Number two: “Making money has to be hard.”
08:49- 08:55 Number three: “It’s obscene to make a lot of money when other people don’t have enough.”
09:56- 10:28 If you have this block, it’s probably you have actively sabotaged yourself to make it a self-fulfilling prophecy. You might resist delegating so you have to do everything yourself, or you’ll procrastinate so you have to pull in your midnight oil to finish your work. But when you catch yourself doing these destructive behaviors, you can stop at the moment and remember that it’s just your money blocks. You can control how you act in those situations.


How to stop struggling with your money blocks?
